New partnership aims to help educate Utah teachers

This morning Gov. Herbert and Pluralsight, a Utah-based online training company for technology and creative professionals, announced an exciting new partnership to help  Utah teachers. Pluralsight, in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and the Utah System of Higher Education will donate free one-year subscriptions to the company’s online training library to all Utah public school teachers.

Making Pluralsight’s catalog accessible to all Utah educators will empower our teachers to  provide better instruction to students about technology and software/IT concepts like coding and programming.

Currently, Utah is ranked among the Top 5 states for growing technology jobs in the country. However, we need to do a better job improve our technology sector workforce if we want to continue this growth.

“I appreciate businesses like Pluralsight for their contribution to the technology industry and to STEM education.” Gov. Herbert said. “Our teachers are the ones who can light a spark, who can open a student’s eyes to new possibilities. And this is a critical first step to growing Utah’s technology presence in the nation.”
